Hey girly! I am SO excited to have you here!
My name is Kim, and I am originally from a cute little beach town in Connecticut. I ended up moving across the country living most of my life in the dessert out here in Arizona. Eight years ago, I met my best friend, who is now my fiancé, Adam. We have two wonderful pups, Penny, and Oliver. I graduated Arizona State University with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
When I was younger, I was very into sports and being active. However, after high school, I was not as active. Slowly but surely, I started to gain weight over the years. I developed a horrible relationship with food and exercise. I would emotionally eat and sometimes I would keep eating after I felt full. I used food as a negative coping mechanism to deal with stress etc. Ever since then, it has been a constant battle of broken promises to myself, letting myself down, and the hopes to start my fitness journey “tomorrow” never came. I tried every “quick” fix in the book, which resulted in gaining my weight back and even more. Every single time.
I got to a point in my life where I could not even look at myself in the mirror. I hated every picture of myself. I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. I did not want to go anywhere or do anything because I was ashamed of my weight. I would turn down going out with friends and not show up to events. An example of how bad it was for me: I told you that I live in Arizona..well..it gets hot here in the summer (100-120 degrees) and I didn’t care, I would NOT wear the shorts. All I wanted was to feel like me again. I wanted to feel happy, content in my skin. I wanted to wear shorts in the summer, a sports bra to the gym and feel good doing it! The problem was not just my weight, it was more of a problem with me not being happy with myself.
In January 2020, I was introduced to weight lifting. This was the real start to my fitness and health journey. I instantaneously fell in love with fitness and health. I fell in love with the process of becoming the best version of myself. I worked very hard on training my body in the gym, changing my relationship with food, and re-training my mind. I believe that to accomplish your fitness goals, there needs to be a mindset change. I believe in a balanced lifestyle. I believe you can have your ice cream, your pasta, or whatever it is you love and still lose your weight.
I believe you can enjoy your life and have fun while shedding pounds. I am LIVING proof of this. It wasn’t until I took on this new approach and embarked a new mindset, I started to see my body and mind transform. I am now down 45lbs+ while being able to have dessert, go out to eat 1-2x a week, and eat the foods I love without guilt. I practice healthy habits and I have a new relationship with food. I do have another 20lbs to go, and we will do it together! Not only do I want to lose 20 more pounds, but I also want to maintain and work on keeping it off. I believe the key to keeping the weight off is to make this your new healthy lifestyle. Create healthy habits that you want to stick with.
More about what I have been doing: I eat mostly whole foods, balanced plates (that consist of protein, fats, and carbs) while in a calorie deficit, I drink about ½ gallon- 1 gallon a day, I get 8 hours of sleep, I make sure to get an adequate amount of sunlight, and I do a lot of self-care.
My mission is to show you that you can have fun and still lose your weight! My goal is to empower you to accomplish your fitness goals! I want you to get the most out of life by feeling good in YOUR own skin. My program will give you access to the exact workouts I do each day, an awesome community of supportive women, my recipe ebook, and health/wellness tips to help you succeed on your journey.
XOXO Kim
